Hello to all!
It’s no secret that I believe anime and manga to be great sources of inspiration for writing and life. However, even though I’ve talked about quite a few anime on here, I haven’t gone that deep into what manga I think deserve a look. That is why I’m making this list here.

In a world where human cloning has been completely perfected, Shirou Kamiya attends the prestigious St. Kleio Academy alongside the genetic copies of many of the world’s greatest achievers.
An entertaining “bromance” with Napoleon Bonaparte, a rivalry with Sigmund Freud, and a duel for honor against Mozart. There is no end to the crazy days Shirou endures.
But things suddenly turn dark at St Kleio, as a dark conspiracy surrounding the true purpose of clones comes to light. Shirou may not be able to live with the truth about his friends, or himself.
This is by far one of the strangest stories I have ever read, but it is also one of the most intriguing. The relationships between Shirou and the other characters, who are all, with the exception of a select few, clones of historical greats, is one of the major driving points of the story, even after it takes a darker turn. Anyone with a love for mystery and dark conspiracy should enjoy reading this.
Makabe Masamune has just transferred to a new school. Being the good looking young man he is, he immediately grabs the attention of his female classmates. But there is only one thing on Makabe’s mind… revenge.
What nobody knows is that Makabe worked tirelessly to obtain the good looks he now has, all for a single purpose ; the win the heart of Adagaki Aki, the girl who broke his heart as a kid, and reject her as hard as she did to him.
Can Makabe go through with his plan?
The only ongoing manga on this list, I find this to also be the most relatable. I’m sure a lot of young men have gone through some bad rejections, and this manga gives us something that, personally, I’ve never seen before ; a main character who does something about his past rejection. Granted, he may be doing it to spite the girl, but it still feels relatable in terms of context.
The characters, for the most part, are also pretty likable, with the exception of Adagaki. Makabe, and all the crazy things he gets himself into, are the main draw of the story.
If you’re looking for a light-hearted comedy with some romance thrown in, Masamune-kun’s Revenge is definitely for you.
The streets of London are terrorized by Jack the Ripper. Each and every night, the bodies of young women are found, mutilated to pieces.
Every detective in London is on the case, but when one discovers the grisly truth about the victims, and Jack himself, an unholy war rages beneath the city.
Is Jack the Ripper truly the villian, or something else?
This is by far one of the best stories I have ever read. I’ve always had a appreciation for taking real world events and weaving them into stories, but Jack the Ripper : HellBlade takes this to an entirely new level!
Not only does this include the infamous serial killer from which the series gets it’s namesake, but others from all over England’s history and literature. From Sherlock and Watson, to Viktor Frankenstein, the characters are one of the most interesting aspects of the series.
The supernatural side of the story is also a main attraction. Demons, werewolves, and vampires all run amok in the streets of London.
If you’re looking for a grisly tale featuring murder, conspiracy, and monsters, pick up Jack the Ripper : Hellblade. You’ll be in for a wild ride!
