Some people may not know what serial fiction is. I’m here to explain exactly that.
Serial fiction is writing a story in several connected parts, released one after another, rather than one complete work. While it may seem strange to some to release stories this way, it can be very effective in keeping an audience engaged in a story.
Personally, I feel this format is quite effective, depending on the genre one writes in. If an author writes fantasy, for example, and has a large cast of characters, then releasing the story one volume, or episode, at a time will entice the readers to keep involved with the characters along their journey.
I feel it is also better to release a single story in many parts over a period of time, rather than wait a full year for the sequel of a book to come out after reading the first one.
